The strong gale that has been sweeping the Haute-Garonne and the Tarn since Monday claimed the first victim.
Monday, late afternoon, a 52-year-old woman who was on foot in the town of Auzielle southeast of Toulouse was seriously injured in the head by a falling branch.
She was transported in absolute urgency to the University Hospital of Purpan.
The Haute-Garonne firefighters carried out "a dozen interventions between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m." for street furniture or trees that threatened to fall.
There are currently no injuries in the Tarn.
The severe wind alert from Météo-France remains valid until Tuesday 9 p.m. in both departments, with gusts of up to 110 or even 120 km / h in the Lauragais.
Residents are urged to limit their travel as much as possible.
