The Rolling Stones are celebrating the 60th anniversary of their formation with a European tour, which will pass through France, Paris and Lyon, next July, the promotion company Live Nation announced on Monday.
In total, 14 concerts will be given in ten countries for this tour called
Sixty
.
It will begin on June 1 in Madrid and end on July 31 in Stockholm, passing in particular through the mythical Anfield stadium in Liverpool, that of San Siro in Milan or even in Brussels.
July 19 in Lyon and July 23 in Paris
In France, fans of the group will be able to see them on July 19 at Groupama Stadium in Lyon and on July 23 at the Paris-Longchamp racecourse, with 50,000 seats available each time.
It will be a European tour without Charlie Watts, historic drummer who died in 2021, replaced by newcomer Steve Jordan for the American tour last year.
The year 2022 is loaded with symbols for the Stones.
The group is celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of its iconic albums,
Exile on main street
, and above all its 60th anniversary.
The band's birth certificate is set by rock critics when they first performed together in July 1962 at the Marquee in London.
