UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has warned of the repercussions of Russia's war in Ukraine, which could result in "a hurricane of famines" in many countries.

"45 African countries and least developed countries import at least a third of their wheat from Ukraine or Russia. And 18 of these countries import at least 50%. This includes countries like Burkina Faso, Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo, Libya, Somalia and Sudan."

In addition, thousands of supporters of the Free Destourian Party demonstrated in Tunis on Sunday to denounce the economic crisis in which the country is plunged.

"Poverty has increased", "famine is at our doorstep", chanted the demonstrators who were at least 2000 in the city center.

In Guinea, faced with the threat of demonstrations at the call of political parties, the government accepted the opening of a framework for dialogue.

Since this morning, political leaders have been received by the authorities to discuss the transition.

Parties which suspect the junta of wanting to stay in power and which for six months have denounced a lack of dialogue with the military. 

In Kenya, outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta has officially announced that he is supporting his eternal rival Raila Odinga for the presidential election next August.

The other main candidate, the current Vice President William Ruto, will be inducted by this Tuesday.

The election promises to be extremely tight.
