The relatives of Olivier Dubois have finally obtained a very first proof of life of the French journalist.

Correspondent for "Le Point" and "Liberation", Olivier Dubois was kidnapped in Mali on April 8, 2021, in Gao, by a jihadist group which calls itself "support group for Islam and Muslims".

At last.

correspondent  have received a video of Olivier Dubois in recent days. which suggests that he would still be alive.

This is an undated video that lasts just over a minute.

Europe 1 did not have access to this video.

But, according to

, Olivier Dubois seems to be in good health.

“I am aware that my case is a small thing”

The journalist first addresses his family and loved ones to thank them for their mobilization.

He then addresses the French authorities with his words: "To my government, I ask to continue to do its utmost to work for my release. I am aware that my case is a small thing in the face of the events it has to face. But yesterday like today, I continue to keep hope."

Olivier Dubois was kidnapped on April 8, 2021 in Gao, Mali, by a self-baptized jihadist group "support group for Islam and Muslims".

The journalist is today the only known French hostage in the world.
