Sheikha Bodour Al Qassimi, President of the International Publishers Association, commended Turkish publishers’ commitment to strengthening cooperation and solidarity with all members of the publisher community around the world, and urged them to be hopeful and optimistic as they continue to work on fruitful partnerships to promote the growth of the publishing industry.

This came during the opening speech delivered by Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi to the global publishing community at the launch ceremony of the "Istanbul Publishing Fellowship Program", which is held in Istanbul, and brings together publishers each year with the aim of exchanging copyright and translation.

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi discussed the growth of the program and the position it has reached, noting that the mechanisms of cooperation between those involved in the Turkish publishing industry, publishers and associations specialized in the book industry all over the world, contributed to the success of the program, which has become a model for the most prominent publishing activities globally.

The President of the International Publishers Association praised publishers' tireless efforts to ensure that books reach readers despite the challenges they face since the start of the Corona pandemic, stressing the importance of solidarity and teamwork in overcoming global challenges.

In a series of meetings that she gathered with members of the Turkish Publishers Association, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi invited publishers around the world to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the International Federation of Publishers Academy to enhance their skills, build their capabilities and help them reduce the differences in light of the rapid digital development that resulted about the repercussions of the crisis.

She explained that through the academy, the union will provide world-class educational materials in cooperation with the “Publishing Center” of the College of Professional Studies at New York University in the United States, the “Oxford International Publishing Center” and the “Publishing Training Center” in the United Kingdom, allowing members to access the courses. and webinars that provide support to publishers and strengthen their readiness for a new phase of growth.
