Arabic Reading Challenge

The Arab Reading Challenge, which falls under the umbrella of the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation", is the largest knowledge-competitive initiative of its kind in the Arab world to develop the passion for reading among young people and instill a culture of reading in them so that it becomes a daily habit, in a way that develops their ideas and contributes to Expand their awareness and enhance their intellectual, analytical and creative abilities and skills.

The challenge was launched in its first session in the 2015-2016 academic year, as a translation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, that “reading is the beginning of the road to a better future based on science and knowledge... and the nations that read have the reins. progress.”

The challenge targets school students from the first grade to the 12th grade, as it aims to establish a culture of reading in the Arabic language, a language capable of keeping pace with all forms of literature, science and knowledge.

“Al Jalila for Child Culture”

The center, affiliated to the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, aims to promote culture among children, and embrace their creativity and ambition for the future.

The center includes a number of technical departments specialized in visual and performing arts, and it receives children from four to 16 years old of all nationalities, and provides them with a safe environment filled with creativity at the hands of a group of artists and specialists in various artistic fields, and is interested in directing children's energies to the right path, and discovering their talents And their creative abilities and use them to refine their personalities, which enhances their ability to deal intelligently with life's obstacles, and enables them to devise creative solutions to the problems they may face in the future.

Sharjah Biennial

The Biennale represents an international cultural artistic event dedicated to children, the first of its kind in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. It was established in 2008 in implementation of the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, with the aim of raising children on firm foundations of cultural and artistic values. Encouraging artists and talented people, supporting their cultural experiences and developing the faculties of aesthetic sense to produce creative works of art.

The biennial is held every two years with wide local, regional and international participation.

Sharjah Children’s Shura

This unique council was established at the direction of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah;

Under the name “Sharjah Children’s Parliament” in 1997;

Then the name was changed to “Sharjah Children’s Shura Council” 1999. «Sheikha Manal for Young Painters»

The "Sheikha Manal Young Artists Program", sponsored by the consort of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, was established in 2013 by Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Emirates Council for Gender Balance, President of the Dubai Women's Foundation, in 2013 To serve as a platform for creative thinking and artistic expression in the region, and to encourage children and adolescents between the ages of five and 17 to engage and participate creatively in the arts.

It also aims to provide educational opportunities for children, encourage them to develop their artistic abilities, and enrich their artistic culture, which in turn contributes to enriching the cultural and artistic scene in the country.

Emirates Council on Books for Young People

It is the national branch of the International Council on Books for Young People, the parent organization headquartered in Switzerland, which was founded in 1953, and represents an international network of institutions and individuals from 81 countries. It seeks to promote the culture of reading among children and adolescents, make it a way of life, and enrich children's literature in the Arab world.

Abu Dhabi Children's Library

The library, located in the Cultural Complex in the heart of Abu Dhabi, is a unique model for children's libraries, providing a vibrant space that encourages creativity and innovation in a dynamic and interactive environment for children of all ages to learn.

The library extends over three floors, with an area of ​​5,250 square meters, and is divided into several immersive social spaces, which differ according to each age group, as their design was inspired by three-dimensional books, while the library supports the method of learning by playing.

Each floor in the library is characterized by a special concept inspired by the diverse landscapes in the Emirates, where the first floor was designed from the inspiration of the calm and serenity of the deserts, inviting children to read on the sand dunes, on the backs of camels or four-wheel drive cars, and in the same vein the other floors of the library were designed in inspiration The oases that the aflaj penetrate.

The library houses a wide variety of books, including fiction and nonfiction books, graphic novels, biographies and audio books.
