  [Explanation] Hainan Province will list the HPV vaccination project for school-age girls as a key private work in 2022, and 71,000 girls between the ages of 13 and 14 and a half will be vaccinated with two doses of HPV vaccine free of charge.

  [Explanation] It is understood that cervical cancer is a high-incidence malignant tumor in women. It is recognized as the main "killer" that threatens women's health worldwide. It ranks fourth in the incidence and mortality of female cancer in the world. It is gradually increasing and getting younger.

Cervical cancer is caused by persistent infection of high-risk HPV virus, and it is the only cancer with definite etiology, preventable and controllable.

  [Explanation] Wang Xiaoli, chief gynecologist at the Hainan Women and Children's Medical Center, introduced that the bivalent HPV vaccine vaccinated for school-age girls in Hainan Province this time can prevent the two most common HPV types and reduce the risk of disease.

  There are about 100,000 (female cervical cancer) new cases every year nationwide, and about 60,000 women lose their lives due to cervical cancer every year.

Then injecting the HPV vaccine at the age of 13 to 14 and a half years old can obtain a better immunogenicity, which means that their chances of developing cervical cancer in adulthood will be greatly reduced.
