After an initially peaceful resistance and in the face of the brutality of the security forces, part of the Burmese population gradually opted for armed struggle by forming People's Defense Forces in different provinces, particularly in the west and in the center. of the country where many Bamars live, the majority ethnic group of the country.

The Burmese junta has found a heavenly partner in Moscow.

Arms delivery and new orders throughout 2021 and the first months of 2022. Russia, which in recent years had become Burma's third largest supplier after China and India, is at the center of the game. instant.
