Congo train accident leaves dozens dead and injured
At least sixty people were killed Thursday night, Friday, when a train derailed in the southeastern region of Kolwezi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, local sources and the state railway company said Saturday.
"The death toll (so far) is 61 men, children and women," Marc Manyonga Ndambo, director in charge of infrastructure at the Congolese national railway company, told AFP by phone from Lubumbashi.
And Congolese media quoted the governor of the region where the accident occurred, as saying that the inconclusive death toll is sixty.
