According to the Tachikawa branch of the Tokyo Regional Prosecutor's Office, Hattori stabbed a 72-year-old man with a knife in the Keio Line train running in Chofu City last October, injuring him for about three months. In addition, he has been accused of attempted murder and arson for attempting to ignite sprinkled lighter oil and kill 12 passengers.



The prosecutor's office held the appraisal for about three months, but as a result of a psychological test by an expert, it was decided that criminal liability could be held.
