Governor Koike of Tokyo announced that he would stop exchanges with the friendship cities of the city in Russia, which is conducting a military invasion, as "demonstrating solidarity with Ukraine."

Since 1991, Tokyo has been a sister city of Moscow, Russia, and since 2015, it has been engaged in exchanges with Tomsk Oblast in the fields of university and tourism.

At a press conference on the 11th, Governor Koike announced that these cities would "stop exchanges in the sense of showing solidarity with Ukraine."

According to the capital, there are no specific exchange projects currently planned.

This is the first time that the city has stopped interacting with friendship cities.

Meanwhile, Governor Koike has revealed that he has already secured 100 metropolitan housing units and plans to expand to a maximum of 700 units in order to accept refugees from Ukraine.

If you move in, the city will prepare the necessary equipment for your life and provide support such as providing clothing.

Governor Koike said, "I think that how much needs there are will depend on what kind of judgment the country makes. I would like to prepare as a capital while observing the future policy of the country." ..
