A flock of 2,022 sheep walked down the famous Champs-Elysees avenue in Paris, to celebrate the end of the International Agriculture Fair held in the French capital.

The agricultural fair and trade fair started ten days ago and brings together farmers and animal breeders from all over the world.

50 artists from the southern Bernese region guided cattle in a one-kilometre procession, along with cows and donkeys, while traditional dances were performed, in the presence of Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and French Prime Minister Jean Caste, who were booed by the crowd.

Jacques Bidonta, organizer of Béarn transhumance, said the show was important "to highlight our Bernese region and our identity".

It is reported that this is the first time that such an event has been organized on the Champs Elysees.
