black midi and flared skirt embroidered with small crystals, the work of Purificación García more than 20 years ago.
She has combined it with a black blouse from the French brand
Sandro
that she has already worn on other occasions.
These discoveries made by the Queen in the dressing room of La Zarzuela make it clear that
fashion moves in concentric circles,
since nobody would say that they are models from several decades ago.
Only two months ago, last January, Doña Letizia surprised with a model with a long skirt and an embroidered Valentino bodice that Doña Sofía had worn on a trip to Germany in 1977 and that she wore to a reception for the accredited diplomatic corps in Spain.
In September 2021, she chose an outfit that the Emeritus wore on an official visit to Rome in 1981: a

the King's mother on the occasion of Don Juan Carlos's 80th birthday.

that Sofia had worn in 1980 on an official visit to Denmark to preside over the National Fashion Awards, and a dress with a lace neckline to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Constitution.
This increasingly common way of resorting to Doña Sofía's wardrobe could be due to the Queen's interest in sustainability, her most austere version since the pandemic began, or simply because they are
good pieces that resist very well the passage of time.
