On the night of the 9th, in Kyoto City, a choir made up of citizens sang the national anthem of Ukraine with people from Ukraine and sent it on SNS to show the feeling of solidarity with Ukraine, which is undergoing a military invasion from Russia.

This was planned by the Kyoto International Community House, which performed in Kyiv 11 years ago as an exchange between sister cities. About 30 members gathered at a music school in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City, and they live in Kyoto. People from Ukraine also rushed in.

First, Mr. Olena Cigar, a Ukrainian-born employee of the Kyoto International Community House, said, "Ukrainians love the national anthem, so I want to sing together for peace."

After this, the members practiced along with her accompaniment while learning her pronunciation from Mr. Shigaru.

In the actual performance, we sang the Ukrainian national anthem with a sunflower flower that symbolizes Ukraine, and live-streamed the situation on SNS.

A Ukrainian woman who participated said, "I was very happy and warmed to hear everyone's voice."

Takashi Tsuda, Chairman of the Kyoto International Community Chorus, said, "I thought that all we could do was sing a song and pray for peace together, so we planned it in a hurry. It's a distant country, but I want to share the feeling of solidarity." I did.
