“It's a very common belief all over the world that it's normal to have pain during your period.

“ Tarana Duhaut, responsible for redistribution and logistics of the association Rules Elementary, sounds the death knell of the taboo on the famous “ragnagnas”.

A word that should not be pronounced in the presence of the

team .

Because no, "women don't have their 'tricks' or their 'ragnagnas', they have their 'rules'".

Created in 2015, the association Rules Elementary aims to put an end to menstrual poverty and raise public awareness.

In six years, its employees and volunteers have collected and redistributed more than ten million products to 280,000 women in France.

“We inform, we raise awareness”

Tarana Duhaut joined the association two years ago after a clear report.

"I worked a lot in Asia and I was completely shocked to see the lack of information, the lack of access," she says.

I thought about whether the subject of menstruation was approached and dealt with in France.

I realized that was not the case.

So I decided to act more locally before acting internationally.

On a daily basis, she is in charge of partnership relations with associations and medico-social structures.

"Those who need sanitary protection for the people they welcome," she adds.

She then supervises, with her colleagues, the distribution of the stocks that the association collects.

Elementary Rules also holds information workshops, in the school environment from CM2 but also for beneficiaries.

“Awareness is really central to us.

We answer questions people may have about their periods, their menstrual health in general.

They are presented with the full range of protections available to them.

We talk about the symptoms that should encourage you to consult a doctor.

We really need to be able to inform people, to break the taboo of the rules.
