A video documenting a groom's claim to his bride for a gold chain and paying his dowry immediately, or else the wedding will be canceled

It is a general practice in most Indian families to start saving for a girl's marriage from the day she is born.

Despite many laws prohibiting evil practices, the custom of dowry that the bride and her family pay to the groom still flourishes in India, and continues to tire unfortunate girls and their families with this custom.

Recently, a shameful incident video was filmed, which shows a stubborn groom in Bihar refusing to marry after claiming that the bride's family failed to meet his demands.

The groom is heard in the video saying that he will cancel the wedding if the bride's family does not fulfill his demands as promised.

The groom added that he is working on a government job, so his demand must be met.

"I haven't received the money yet. I didn't get all the things I promised. Even the gold chain didn't come)" says the groom in the video.

When asked if he is not ashamed of taking the dowry, the groom defends himself, saying that everyone takes it, but he received nothing. The video spread widely, and circulated on Indian news sites, while social media activists criticized the groom for taking the dowry.

One user wrote on Twitter: "Perhaps the girl should rise and strangle the guy who wears the same gold chain he's asking for in a stupid, outdated and unacceptable ritual that puts enormous social pressure on the girl's family."

It should be noted that 20 women die in India every day, as a result of the problems resulting from them and their families paying the dowry, either by killing or by forced suicide.
