Why this book?

  • Because there is this little something in the pen of Xavier de Moulins

    which upsets each time.

And with this family and intimate camera, there is no doubt that it will stir your interest as a reader.

  • Because it's the story of a father, in the car with his two daughters in the back

for a trip leading them to Paprika, their somewhat whimsical grandmother.

A few days at Easter, moments of reunion, a ritual that enchants the two little girls as much as it worries the narrator.

For him, no pleasure in finding his mother who laughs too much for his taste.

No desire to see this brother again, with his perfect image and his success that slaps him in the face.

And tired in advance of the number of times he will have to answer "Jeanne is working" to those who mention the absence of his wife.

  • Because like a drone, of which the narrator is a trainer,

we will gain height, as a reader to see above this house and this garden.

We are not going to stop at appearances and what is not said.

We will understand why the narrator seems so fragile, and what leads him to feel like he is dead.

Three parts, like three acts of an intimate and family tragedy.

A novel about failures, doubts and confrontations that punctuate a life, but also about forgiveness and the spark that can start everything up again for good.
