Jiang Fachun, deputy director of the Qingdao Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that most of the current round of epidemics in Laixi were mild confirmed cases and asymptomatic infections. First, it was related to the characteristics of the Omicron variant. The infectivity of the Mikron variant is enhanced, and the clinical symptoms are relatively mild. Second, it is related to large-scale population immunization. After vaccination, the human body's immunity is enhanced. Even if infected, some symptoms may not appear relatively. Third, the increase in asymptomatic infections is related to early detection and control.
Jiang Fachun said that at present, vaccination is still the most economical and effective way to prevent new coronary pneumonia, and vaccination can reduce the risk of hospitalization, severe illness and death.
