Three people are still trapped in the derailment accident of the Jingyuan coal locomotive in Gansu

At around 21:44 on the evening of March 8, a dump truck hit the railway bridge near the Yellow River Bridge in Mitan Town, Jingyuan County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, causing the front of a coal-carrying train to derail and fall to the ground. In the river channel under the bridge, a total of 4 train drivers and related personnel were trapped in the front of the train.

After the incident, one person was rescued in time and sent to Jingyuan County People's Hospital for treatment. As of 5:00 a.m. on March 9, three people were still trapped.

The reporter from the head office learned at the scene that after the accident, Jingyuan County immediately launched an emergency plan, established an emergency headquarters, and organized emergency, public security, fire, medical and other departments to carry out rescue work.

However, due to the heavy and high hardness of the locomotive, it is difficult to dismantle, and the rescue work is difficult.

To this end, the local area has re-formulated a rescue plan, and urgently coordinated the railway department to mobilize several large-scale machinery and equipment to the scene.

Huang Yuzhou, director of the Jingyuan County Emergency Management Bureau, said that medical staff had injected epinephrine and nutrient solution for the trapped people.

In addition, the reporter also learned that the driver of the dump truck that caused the accident has been controlled by the public security department.
