The sheep in particular bore marks showing that they had been partially devoured.
Breeders have denounced the extent of wolf attacks as well as the amplification of the phenomenon.
The president of the Sheep Federation of Drôme thus indicated that 51 ewes had been killed by wolves since the beginning of 2022, against six on the same date in 2021.
In the vicinity of Crest (Drôme), 19 sheep died after being attacked during three close events.
A male wolf was later shot in the area.
A counting operation of these wild animals will also be launched in the department.
