The UAE witnessed the launch of the "Emirates Copy Rights Management Association", within the framework of the state's directions to preserve the rights of authors and publishers, and its keenness to enact laws and legislation that document and protect works and publications, and preserve the rights of their owners and publishers.

This came during a ceremony held at the House of Wisdom in Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the International Publishers Association, Honorary President of the Emirates Association for the Management of Copy Rights, Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Culture and Youth Noura Al Kaabi, and Minister of Community Development Hessa bint Issa. Buhamid, and a number of managers and officials in the relevant sectors.

During her opening speech to launch the association, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi said: “We are proud to launch the association.

This achievement, which is considered the first in the region, and consolidates the position and role of the UAE in stimulating and encouraging creative industries as an important pillar in modern economies, where reliance on the elements of intangible and intangible growth is increasing, as is reflected in creativity in the digital sector.”

She stressed that the establishment of the association came to give a clear indication that the UAE is making every possible effort to protect the creative rights of authors and publishers, as the association is the first step in the right direction.

The launch ceremony witnessed the announcement of the association's official identity, in addition to a video review that included live testimonies from a number of its partners, from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Federation of Reproductive Organizations (IFRO), on the process of establishing the association.

During the ceremony, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi honored the strategic partners, which are the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Youth, the Ministry of Community Development, the Emirates Publishers Association, the Emirates Writers Union, and the Emirates Intellectual Property Association.

Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi also honored the work team that assumed its founding and organizational tasks.

The Society's work strategy includes supervising the use of works by beneficiaries in schools, universities, transcription centers, and public libraries, in cooperation with relevant government agencies, including the National Media Council, and statistics centers.

The Society coordinates its work tasks with the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Education, and grants licenses to copy works to universities, schools, public libraries, and the government and private sectors.
