The convicted murderer Ralf H. is extradited from the Netherlands to Germany on March 9th.

This was announced by the public prosecutor's office in Dortmund on Monday.

The extradition request was approved last week.

On Wednesday, the murderer of schoolgirl Nicole Schalla, who was killed in Dortmund in 1993, will be handed over to the German authorities at a border crossing.

Ralf H. fled with his partner from Münster to the Netherlands in December shortly before he went to prison.

He was arrested in an apartment in Enschede shortly before Christmas.

The 56-year-old fled after freeing himself from a court-ordered shackle.

The investigators found the duo with the help of target investigators from the State Criminal Police Office.

Ralf H. was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Dortmund Regional Court in January 2021, 27 years after the violent death of the then 16-year-old Nicole Schalla.

He attacked and strangled her in a Dortmund suburb in 1993 – for sexual motives.
