Three million dollars.

This is the sum that Mila Kunis and her husband Ashton Kutcher have pledged to donate to several organizations that come to the aid of the populations affected by the Russian invasion in Ukraine.

The actress, who was born in Ukraine, posted a message on the GoFundMe site, encouraging fans to donate.

The couple, as she explains in her video, promises that they will double the donations made (up to 3 million dollars, therefore).

As of Monday, nearly $17 million had already been raised.

“I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983. I came to America in 1991. I have always considered myself an American, a proud American.

I love everything this country has done for me and my family.

But today I have never been so proud to be Ukrainian,” she said.

And to continue: “The Ukrainian people are strong and courageous, but being strong and courageous does not mean that you do not deserve to be supported.

We must support the Ukrainian people.

Help us and support the people”.

Follow the example

At the end of last week, the United Nations announced that at least 1.3 million people have already fled Ukraine.

The funds raised by the two stars and the private donors who follow their example on GoFundMe will therefore go to Flexport, which delivers sanitary supplies and helps local humanitarian associations, as well as to Airbnb, which has pledged to financially support all the people hosting refugees.

“While the scale of displacement is not yet clear, we expect more than 10 million people to flee their homes if the violence continues, including four million who may cross borders into the neighboring countries," said Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, at a press conference.
