The Melodifestivalen's starting arrangements are not drawn - it is competition producer Karin Gunnarsson who decides.
The reason is that you want to make sure that the program gets a good dramaturgy.
“The starting field is strong, wide and incredibly fun to both watch and listen to.
It is packed with three previous winners and a bunch of brilliant debutants, "says Karin Gunnarsson in a press release.
She also points out that the starting field has consisted of half men, half women on the artist side.
This year, the following starting order is considered to contribute to the best dramaturgical effect:
