Yamagata Prefecture announced on the 6th that it was confirmed that 160 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
The cumulative total of people confirmed to be infected in the prefecture was 12,799.
According to the prefecture, one person who was confirmed infected with the new coronavirus died on the 5th.
A total of 70 people died after being infected with the new virus.
