As Russia's military invasion of Ukraine continued, citizens in Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture, rang a bell praying for peace to commemorate the victims of the military invasion and prayed for the immediate withdrawal of the army.
At Shinei Park in Ishigaki City, a "Bell of World Peace" was set up to pray for peace, and on the 5th, about 30 people from the city and citizens gathered at the call of the city.
In front of the gathered people, Mayor Yoshitaka Nakayama of Ishigaki City complained, "Only fear and sadness are born from the conflict. I strongly hope that a peaceful solution will be made through discussions."
After that, the citizens rang the "bell of world peace" to commemorate the victims of the Russian invasion and prayed for the immediate withdrawal of the army.
A woman living in the city who rang the bell said, "I just pray that the war will end as soon as possible and peace will come to Ukraine."
