Eleven years after the Great East Japan Earthquake struck on the 11th of this month, the Japan Coast Guard and police searched for people missing due to the tsunami in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture.

A total of 56 people, including city officials, coast guard officers, and police officers, gathered for the search on the 5th near the mouth of the Kitakami River in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, and all of them prayed silently at the beginning.

Searches were conducted in multiple locations within the Hebei and Ogatsu districts, looking for clues by walking along the coast and digging up stones.

At sea, patrol boats and divers from the Japan Coast Guard also searched.

According to Ishinomaki City, the whereabouts of a total of 414 people, including four children who attended Okawa Elementary School, are still unknown.

Sho Sato, Chief of the Security and Rescue Division of the Miyagi Coast Guard, said, "There are still many people waiting for the return of their missing family even after a long time since the earthquake. I want to search for it. "
