Dee Snider 200% endorses the use of the 1984 classic

We're Not Gonna Take It

by Ukrainian fighters.

“I absolutely approve of the use of

We're Not Gonna Take It

as a battle cry by Ukrainians,” wrote the Twisted Sister singer on Twitter before recalling his Ukrainian origins.

“My grandfather was Ukrainian, before the country was absorbed into the USSR after World War II.

It can't happen a second time to these people!

F**K Russia”.

Not in the same yard

Dee Snider's message of support then raised some unwelcome reactions from anti-mask Internet users who blame the artist for having refused them the use of the same song for their campaign during the pandemic.

And the artist's response was not long in coming!

"People ask me why I approve of using

We're Not Gonna Take It

for Ukrainians when I didn't for anti-mask.

Well, on the one hand it is used for a just fight against oppression;

on the other in an infantile outburst against a small annoyance,” he concluded in another tweet.
