Having made Eurovision, is it an asset to manage the pressure of "The Voice"?

Eurovision is a unique experience in an artist's life.

It is still today the most beautiful scene that I could do in my short career as a singer.

We are never really prepared for the pressure that it can represent.

It's the biggest song contest in existence.

This allowed me to go to concerts in several European countries, via fan clubs which are very active and respectful of each artist regardless of their ranking in the competition.

It's an immense stage experience that allowed me to set foot in the world of music.

I may have done

The Voice

with a little less apprehension, even if there was some (laughs).

It had been two years since I had sung, so there was a stress present during my blind audition.

Two years without singing, why?

In 2019, I was on the bill for a musical,

Siddhartha (The Rock Opera)

, in Paris.

She stopped in January 2020. The confinements arrived and, like many artists, I found myself with nothing, without a project.

I asked myself the question of knowing if I will sing again one day or not.

And then, as if by magic, came this proposal to do

The Voice

.

I wondered if I should go since I had participated in the Belgian version [in 2013, he had left the adventure during the battles].

I very quickly said yes: I wanted to sing, give myself a chance for a new start and show myself in a country other than mine.

What stake, what ambition, do you place in your participation in telecrochet?

It's a way to give me a fresh start.

I will be 40 this year.

I tell myself that at this age, it's good to leave with a musical project.

It's a huge springboard for France.

When we have this opportunity, we seize it.

No matter what happens, it's quite magical to experience.

I see it as a new challenge, in the continuity of my career in Belgium.

You are going to sing "All the universe" with which Gjon's Tears finished third in Eurovision 2021. Why this choice?

Gjon's Tears song allowed me to show the extent of my voice.

He went through

The Voice

, we both did Eurovision.

I thought it was a good wink to start something new, with a song that is not at all in the style of what I sang at Eurovision.

And then, it's a title in French and I want to defend our beautiful language.

Without revealing the outcome of your blind audition, did your participation confirm your desire to reconnect with music?

Going back on stage, just that, was magical to experience.

Even if there was no audience during the blind auditions, singing surrounded by musicians is already something big.

This confirmed to me that I wanted to flourish in song, to offer my repertoire, and to redo, perhaps, musicals.

All doors are open to restart my story.
