A baby wallaby's days are numbered when it falls out of its mother's pouch.
An accountant from the Upie zoo (Drôme) did not hesitate to act as surrogate mother to save a small marsupial.
For nearly a month, Julie Algoud has been carrying the animal in a bag against her, reports Le Dauphiné Libéré.
At first, zoo keepers waited to see if the baby's mother came to pick him up.
But the latter did not show up.
On February 5, the establishment's accountant who was passing through offered to bring the wallaby against her.

The baby wallaby is doing well
The animal must indeed be kept warm because, without hair, it is unable to regulate its body temperature on its own.
The baby wallaby is doing well.
Julie Algoud gives her a bottle every four hours and her family is also involved in her initiative.
This beautiful story is not over yet: the accountant will have to keep the marsupial against her for another 2 months.
