The mimosa flowers that announce the arrival of spring at the zoo in Kitakyushu are in full bloom, and were presented to the giraffes in the park who love mimosas.

At the zoo "Itozu no Mori Park" in Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu, about 100 mimosas planted in the park are in full bloom and bloom yellow flowers.

Of the two giraffes bred at this zoo, the 14-year-old male "Toma" loves mimosa leaves and flowers, so the garden presents them every year at this time of year.

When the keeper tied the mimosa branch to a tree about 3 meters high, "Toma" was eating with his long tongue dexterously.

A woman in her thirties who visited from Koga City said, "I was taking a picture of a giraffe and a giraffe moving together. It was cute because the giraffe was eating too much."

Mr. Yasuki Nakagami, the keeper, said, "I want you to pay attention to how the giraffe eats with its long tongue. I want everyone who came to the park as well as the giraffe to feel the arrival of spring."

The mimosa in Izu no Mori Park is expected to be in full bloom from this weekend to next week, and the zoo will give mimosa to giraffes for 6 days.
