About fifty trees were felled this week in Clamart (Hauts-de-Seine) as part of the renovation of the Hunebelle stadium.

The operation surprised and pained many residents since the site signs indicate that the future project is "eco-responsible" and "preserves nature and its environment", reports

Le Parisien

.

"There will be many more trees at the end of the project than at the beginning since, in the end, 350 trees will be replanted, including 52 of high stem", however, it is said at the town hall.

80% of the future site's domestic hot water will be produced by “solar trees”.

These will also collect rainwater and allow the charging of devices.

A large sports complex

The details of the project promised for 2024 or 2025 have also been public for more than six years.

The sports complex will notably offer an athletics hall, a gymnasium, a boxing hall, a rugby field, five tennis courts, a fitness trail, a bowling alley and a restaurant.
