As war rages in Ukraine and the city of Kiev is about to be besieged by the Russian army, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées has announced that it has invited the Kiev National Opera Ballet for its 2022-2023 programming.

The famous Ukrainian ballet will therefore perform, around Christmas,

The Nutcracker

, a famous work by Tchaikovsky.

In a statement,

the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées announces that it “will do everything possible to ensure that artists can perform in Paris and assures them of its unwavering support in the terrible ordeal they are going through.
