Russian cats banned from participating in international exhibitions

The International Cat Federation banned Russian cats from participating in international exhibitions or registering them in the pedigree book.

 The official website of the federation stated that the ban will continue until May 31, 2022, and it also includes a ban on the transfer of cats bred in Russia or registered in the pedigree book published under the auspices of the federation.

"Many innocent people have died, many more have been injured and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes to save their lives. We can all witness the devastation and chaos caused by this unprecedented act of aggression," the website reads.

He added: "Our Ukrainian cat lovers are desperately trying to take care of their cats and other animals in these difficult conditions. We are very happy, because many members of FIFE clubs bordering Ukraine, such as Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova, are lending a helping hand to their Ukrainian breeders friends."

Western countries continue to impose various sanctions on Russia as a result of its military operation on Ukraine, including in the areas of banking, sports and the media, and recently it has even imposed sanctions on Russian animals, including cats.
