Six people, including singer and actor Akihiro Miwa, were selected as the winners of this year's NHK Broadcast Culture Award, which is given to those who have made achievements in the development of the broadcasting business and the improvement of broadcasting culture.

Aiichiro Tsutake (66), a professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Meijo University, contributed to the development of broadcasting technology by working on research guidance on technology to deliver beautiful images and sounds to viewers as a leading expert in radio wave research.

Itoyuki Hanayagi (83), a dance choreographer who has been in charge of choreography for over 50 years in numerous song programs such as "Kohaku Uta Gassen" and "Memorial Melody" and has expanded the expression on stage.

Broadcaster Peter Barakan (70), who has been active on the front lines of television and radio by making full use of his fluent Japanese, and has conveyed Japanese culture to the world.

Katsunori Fujii (72), the representative of the Japan Council for the Disabled, has played a leading role in cooperating with NHK's welfare programs for many years in the face of visual impairment.

Akemi Masuda (58), a sports journalist and professor at Osaka University of Arts, has gained the support of viewers in a wide range of programs by conveying the appeal of marathons and other events with his abundant knowledge and light narrative as a commentator.

Akihiro Miwa (86), a singer, actor, and director who supports the program with various activities such as talking in dramas, and the songs that reflect the experience of the atomic bombing and the feelings for his hometown in the "Kohaku Uta Gassen" have received a great response. ).
