A 40-year-old died Wednesday in Bastia (Haute-Corse) of several stab wounds.
The alleged perpetrator, his companion, jumped out of the window of his apartment when the police arrived and succumbed to his fall, we learned from the prosecutor.
The Bastia police station, called around one in the morning, had intervened for a nocturnal uproar, said Arnaud Viornery, Bastia prosecutor, confirming information from
France 3 Corse
.
"It appears from the first investigations that the alleged perpetrator, aged 21, and the victim, aged 46, had been in a relationship for a few months," the prosecutor said in a statement.
A patrol arrived at the scene and the 21-year-old "refused to open the door": "In view of the behavior and speech of the person concerned, the police entered the home by force", explained the prosecutor.
Seriously injured, they died a few hours later.
"As part of the search of the premises, they will discover a victim, a 46-47 year old woman in blood, obviously the victim of stab wounds" who, at that time, "has no vital prognosis involved" .
During this search, "they will realize that the respondent threw himself out of the window on the 4th floor", added Arnaud Viornery.
The two people will be taken care of by the emergency services but will die, the man “in the night” and his companion “in the early morning”, specified the magistrate.
“We are not at all on people who were reported, either violent for him, or problematic in terms of neighborhood”, made a point of specifying the prosecutor.
