　　Since June 2017, the Shandong Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology has carried out a large-scale and detailed exploration of the west side of the ancient city of Qi and the small city.

Through 5 years of archaeological exploration and excavation, it has been proved that the building site group outside the west gate of the ancient city of Qi is the only high-level courtyard-style building group outside the west wall and south wall of the entire ancient city of Qi.

　　Jixia Academy is the first official institution of higher learning in the world. The academic scene of "a hundred schools of thought contending" in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty was centered on the Jixia Academy of Qi State.

Regarding the location of Jixia Academy, there are many historical documents pointing to the west gate of Qi's ancient city.

　　Liu Xiang's "Bie Lu" in the Western Han Dynasty, "Qi has Ji gate, and Qi city gate. The scholars who talk about it will be under it"; during the Sixteen Kingdoms period, Yan Mo, a native of Linzi in Nanyan State, "Qi Di Ji", "On the side of the west gate of Qi city. , there are lecture rooms on the left and right sides of the water, and the toes are often stored." "Outside the west gate of Linzi City, there is an ancient lecture hall, and the foundation pillars still exist. Qi Xuan Wang repaired the literature office"; Northern Wei geographer Li Daoyuan "Water Classic Notes · Zishui"; "Records, "The water is close to the north of the city, west of the Jingyang Gate, and the water is sealed, so the so-called Qi Zhixia is also".

　　These records do not say whether the Jixia Academy is outside the west gate of the ancient city of Qi or outside the west gate of the small city. Others say that it is outside the south gate of the small city and under the Ji Mountain.

However, the official schools in Chinese history were all attached to the political center and were often located on the west side of the national center. Therefore, Jixia Academy would not be built at the foot of Ji Mountain in the deserted suburbs, but only near the ancient city of Qi.

Through archaeological exploration and excavation, except for the building base site group outside the west gate of the ancient city of Qi, all other places mentioned in the literature have been excluded.

　　Archaeological findings show that the building foundations outside the west gate of the ancient city of Qi were built close to the small town, and the small town moat directly enclosed it. It can be seen that the two were planned and built together.

After Tian's generation of Qi, he moved the palace from the big city to the small city, and decided to build the Jixia School at the same time.

In this way, not only the official school is placed at the elbow and armpit, it is easy to use and control; it is also separated from the center, and the inside and outside are clearly different.

It can be seen from such a setting that Tian's move to the capital on behalf of Qi and the construction of Jixia Academy were carried out at the same time, and the ambition to dominate the world was clearly revealed.

　　Interestingly, today, a country road called "Hong Avenue" passes through the middle of the site - and the country road that passes through the site has historically been called Hong Avenue; from this road to the gate of the village, it is called "Hong Avenue". Hongmen".

"Hong" means academy, history, and there will always be some clues left behind.
