Smuggled drugs in the form of onions in California!

Mexican smugglers who tried to hide more than 600 kilograms of methamphetamine in white onions had no choice but to cry for their misfortune, as the American customs agents did not mistake their noses and managed to thwart their plan.

Customs authorities at a California border stopped the truck loaded with onions after a dog alerted him to the presence of drugs hidden in the cargo.

Indeed, among thousands of real onions, customs agents found about 1,200 small packages of the anesthetic powder inside white packages that smugglers gave the shape of onions in an attempt to mislead the police.

"It wasn't just a cunning attempt to smuggle drugs, I've never seen it before," said Sydney Aki of San Diego Customs (Southern California). "It took a long time to package drugs like this."

The customs indicated that the value of the shipment of about 600 kilograms of methamphetamine was approximately $2.9 million.

The US customs authorities also announced that they had seized two kilograms of marijuana hidden in boxes of cornflakes for breakfast while being smuggled from Kentucky to Britain, in a new indication that drug smugglers are seeking to devise new ways to pass their goods through border crossings.
