Nara Prefecture and Nara City announced on March 1 that it was confirmed that 695 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
A total of 55,694 people have been confirmed to be infected so far.
Meanwhile, two deaths have been announced, bringing the total number of deaths to 264 to date.
The number of seriously ill people has decreased by one from February 28 to 23.
