China News Service, March 1. According to the website of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education today announced the main results of the national education statistics in 2021. The data shows that there are 529,300 schools of all levels and types in the country, with 291 million students and 1,844.37 full-time teachers. 10,000 people, and the working-age population has an average of 10.9 years of education.

  1. Preschool education

  In 2021, there will be 294,800 kindergartens nationwide.

There are 48.0521 million children in kindergartens, including 42.1820 million children in inclusive kindergartens, and the coverage rate of inclusive kindergartens reaches 87.78%.

There are 3.191 million full-time teachers in preschool education.

The gross enrollment rate of preschool education was 88.1%.

  2. Compulsory education

  In 2021, there will be 207,200 compulsory education schools nationwide.

There are 158 million students in school.

There are 10.5719 million full-time teachers.

The consolidation rate of nine-year compulsory education was 95.4%.

  There are 154,300 primary schools nationwide.

There were 17.8258 million primary school students and 108 million students.

There are 6.6008 million full-time primary school teachers.

  There are 52,900 junior high schools nationwide.

There were 17,054,400 students enrolled in junior high schools and 50,184,400 students.

There are 3.9711 million full-time teachers in junior high schools.

  3. High school education

  In 2021, the gross enrollment rate for senior high school will be 91.4%.

  There are 14,600 general high schools nationwide.

9,049,500 students were enrolled and 26,050,300 students were enrolled.

There are 2.0283 million full-time teachers in ordinary high schools.

  There are 7294 secondary vocational schools nationwide.

There were 4,889,900 students enrolled and 13,118,100 students enrolled.

There are 695,400 full-time teachers in secondary vocational education.

  4. Higher education

  In 2021, there will be 3,012 colleges and universities nationwide, including 1,238 general undergraduate schools; 32 undergraduate-level vocational schools; 1,486 higher vocational (specialist) schools; and 256 adult colleges and universities.

The total number of students in various forms of higher education is 44.3 million, and the gross enrollment rate of higher education is 57.8%.

  A total of 10,013,200 students were enrolled in general and vocational colleges nationwide, including 4,446,000 general undergraduate students, 41,400 vocational undergraduate students, and 5,525,800 higher vocational (specialist) students.

  There are 34,961,300 students in general and vocational colleges nationwide, including 18,931,000 general undergraduate students; 129,300 vocational undergraduate students; and 15,901,000 vocational (specialist) students.

  A total of 1.1765 million graduate students were enrolled nationwide.

Among them, 125,800 doctoral students and 1,050,700 master students are enrolled.

There are 3.3324 million postgraduate students.

Among them, there are 509,500 doctoral students and 2,822,900 master students.

  A total of 3.7853 million undergraduates were enrolled nationwide, with 8.3265 million students enrolled.

2,839,200 students are enrolled in network undergraduate and junior colleges, and 8,739,000 students are enrolled.

  There are 1,885,200 full-time teachers in higher education nationwide, including 1,269,700 in ordinary undergraduate schools; 25,600 in undergraduate vocational schools; 570,200 in higher vocational (specialist) schools; and 19,700 in adult colleges.

  5. Special education

  In 2021, there will be 2,288 special education schools nationwide.

There are 149,100 special education students in various forms and 919,800 students in school.

There are 69,400 full-time teachers in special education.
