The commander of the Damascus Fire Brigade concluded by emphasizing that the criminal authorities had started their investigations to find out the causes of the fire.

Brigadier General Ahmed Abbas, Director of Civil Defense in Damascus, said that the teams have so far recovered 6 people who died in the fire, who are shift workers and guard groups for the mall who were unable to get out during its first phase.

Brigadier Abbas confirmed that the search is still underway for other possible victims.
