[Explanation] A few days ago, a spring snow covered the Black-necked Crane Nature Reserve (referred to as the reserve) in Linzhou County, Lhasa, and hundreds of black-necked cranes were leisurely foraging in the snow.

Tenzin, a 59-year-old farmer this year, is a ranger in the reserve. Since 2015, he has been guarding black-necked cranes for seven consecutive years. His hometown, Kadong Village, Linzhou County, has also become a beautiful "home" for black-necked cranes to spend the winter.

I have been patrolling the wintering of black-necked cranes for 7 years, and the number of black-necked cranes has increased year by year during this period.

I think there are two reasons for this, one is that it is relatively close to the reservoir (the climate is suitable), and the other is that the farmland in this area is planted with wheat (black-necked cranes love to eat wheat). , which can attract more and more black-necked cranes to overwinter.

[Explanation] For 7 years, Tenzin has been tirelessly patrolling, feeding, and rescuing black-necked cranes.

Tenzin introduced that every year when winter comes, groups of black-necked cranes fly to the Pengbo River Valley in Linzhou County, where they begin their wintering life.

(During the winter of the black-necked cranes) the rangers have to patrol separately. We each have our own patrol area, and we have to patrol every day throughout the winter.

[Explanation] The reporter learned from Linzhou County Forestry and Grassland Bureau that there are about 2,000 to 2,200 black-necked cranes wintering in Linzhou County this year, most of which are concentrated in Hutoushan Reservoir and Kazi Reservoir, among which Hutoushan Mountain There are more than a thousand black-necked cranes around the reservoir.

Every winter, the bureau distributes wheat to the rangers to "supplement" the black-necked cranes.

In early December every year, the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Linzhou County distributes wheat, and our rangers find some open places to feed them until the end of wintering for black-necked cranes.

[Explanation] It is reported that since the winter of 2021, the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Linzhou County has distributed 27,000 catties of wheat to 9 rangers, including Tenzin, to ensure that black-necked cranes survive the winter.
