Nara Prefecture and Nara City announced on the 26th that it was confirmed that 942 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections to 53,210.
Meanwhile, five deaths have been announced, bringing the total number of deaths to 260 to date.
There are 23 seriously ill people.
