Approximately 1.5 million, saying that the declaration was canceled on the scheduled date of the reception at the hotel in Nagoya City for the couple who canceled the wedding reception because of the first emergency declaration for the new coronavirus. In a trial seeking payment of a yen cancellation fee, the Nagoya District Court dismissed the complaint, saying that it was difficult to see the infection situation and the cancellation was unavoidable.

A couple in their 40s living in Aichi Prefecture was sued in April, the day after the first emergency declaration was issued to seven prefectures, in June at the "Nagoya Kanko Hotel" in Naka-ku, Nagoya. I canceled the scheduled reception.

On the other hand, the hotel side said, "At the time of cancellation, the declaration was not issued to Aichi prefecture, and it was canceled about one month before the scheduled date, and we were able to hold a reception. There were multiple proposals such as postponement. I asked the couple to pay a cancellation fee of about 1.5 million yen.

In a ruling on the 25th, Nagoya District Court Judge Naoyuki Iwai said, "At the time of cancellation, it is generally impossible to hold a wedding reception within a few months because there is no prospect of the infection ending. Because it was recognized, I admit that the couple canceled it due to an unavoidable reason. "

Toru Yoshikawa, a lawyer representing the couple, said, "I think there are people who have paid the cancellation fee, so it makes sense for the court to make a proper decision."

On the other hand, the hotel says, "I can't comment because I don't know the details."
