• The incidence rate in Pays-de-la-Loire has fallen well below 1,000.

  • The positivity rate of screenings remains, however, at a worrying level.

The number of contaminations declared to Covid-19 continues to plummet in Pays-de-la-Loire.

After having long experienced a more unfavorable situation than the rest of the country, the region now has an incidence rate lower than the national average, according to the latest figures released this Friday by the regional health agency (ARS).

Some 670 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants are currently recorded, compared to 763 in France.

For the record, this same incidence rate was 1,020 last week and 2,070 only 15 days ago.

The decline in the epidemic, accentuated by a reduction in screening, is therefore spectacular.

It is in Sarthe and Maine-et-Loire that the trend appears to be the most favourable.

The Beaujoire vaccination center closes

However, vigilance is still required since the positivity rate of people presenting for a test remains at a worrying level.

More than one out of four screenings (28%) leads to a positive result.

This is above the national average (22%).

Some 800 Covid-19 patients are now hospitalized in Pays-de-la-Loire.

They are 71 in intensive care, according to the ARS.

Unsurprisingly, given the increase in vaccination coverage, the volume of vaccinations performed is down sharply.

A trend that leads to a reorganization in Nantes.

The large vaccination center at the Beaujoire exhibition center, which has carried out more than 600,000 injections since January 2021, is thus closing its doors.

Its activity is transferred to the festive room Nantes Erdre with an opening limited to three days (Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday) from next week.

Wednesday afternoons will be dedicated to pediatric appointments (5 to 11 years old).

A mobile vaccination center is also relaunched from this weekend for the Nantes districts.
