It is the land of Bob Marley, Usain Bolt, reggae, Rastafarianism and heavenly beaches.

Of course, not only.

"What I really discovered there was this natural Eden side", explains Sophie Jovillard at the microphone of Europe 1. "We have the chance to visit the

Blue mountains

, to go to the coffee plantations ... By taking what could be called 'the roads of the impossible', because the roads are quite rough!"

Struggles of the "Maroons", jerk and cannabis

During this filming, his strongest meeting will have been the one with Mamadjé Gloria.

"She is the heiress of the

Maroons

, these courageous fugitive slaves who had escaped into the mountains", specifies the journalist.

"She is very touching and I had a really exciting and emotional time with her."

The report also reveals sumptuous seascapes, with coral gardens, and viewers will learn more about local cuisine with jerk, a very spicy chicken recipe.

The only local specialty that Sophie Jovillard has not tried is cannabis, although she admits that she has been offered it several times.

The new episode of

Échappées Belles

 entitled

Jamaica, generous by nature

is broadcast on Saturday evening on France 5, from 8:55 p.m.
