Roskomnadzor, the authority for monitoring communications and mass media, released the guidelines on its website on Wednesday morning.

It is written that all Russian media that report on the operation in Ukraine must obtain their information from an official Russian source.

"We emphasize that it is Russian official information sources that provide and disseminate reliable and up-to-date information."

Roskomnadzor writes that the dissemination of "deliberately false information" can be punished with a fine and that the reporting deemed false by the authority will be blocked immediately.
