For Paul Dano, the filming of

The Batman

was far from having been a cakewalk.

The actor plays the role of the Sphinx, one of the most disturbing enemies of the dark knight, whose director Matt Reeves chose to make a serial killer targeting the political figures of Gotham City.

And once back in his character, the star of

Prisoners

had a hard time getting out of it, to the point of no longer being able to sleep.

"There were nights where I probably didn't sleep as well as I would have liked just because it was kind of hard to leave that character.

It takes a lot of energy to get into character, and so you almost have to keep it with you once you get there because going up and down is kind of hard,” he told Entertainment Weekly. .

On top of that, the filming conditions were made particularly difficult because of the mask of the Sphinx.

"A Crazy Feeling"

“My head was throbbing with heat.

I went home that night, after the first full day, and barely slept because I was scared of what was going on in my head.

It was kind of constricted by sweat, heat and lack of oxygen.

It was a crazy feeling,” Paul Dano continued.

Fortunately for the actor, the props managed to get oxygen through the mask to make the actor's job easier.

See you on March 2 to enjoy Paul Dano's performance in
