On the afternoon of June 22, 1996, the criminal suspect Zhao Moumou shot at a coal mine near Yaotou Village, Yongan Town, Fenxi County, Linfen City, killing Wang Moumou, who was also working in the mine, and absconded.
In March 2021, the Fenxi County Public Security Bureau established a homicide and backlog detection task force to carry out the work of homicide backlog.
The task force lasted several months, traveled more than 21,000 kilometers, and traveled to many places across the country. With the cooperation of the Fujian Provincial Police, the criminal suspect Zhao Moumou was arrested on February 10, 2022.
After interrogation, the suspect Zhao Moumou confessed to his crime.
