"The international crisis being what it is, I cannot continue to host a program, even of contradictory debates", he announced.

"From the moment France finds itself in open conflict with Russia, I cannot, out of loyalty to my country, continue to host this program. It's not against RT France, which has always left me free to do what I wanted."

This decision by the journalist follows the announcement by Vladimir Putin who on Monday recognized the independence of the pro-Russian separatist regions of Donetsk and Lugansk.

The Russian president also gave the green light to a military operation in these Ukrainian territories.

Frédéric Taddeï nevertheless clarified that he would not leave RT France for the moment.

The channel told Le
